SpaceShare just finished the carpool & roommate match for Camp Democracy in D.C., and one of the green travelers who used the site and is part of the Florida Coalition recommended we work together...
How we can help the Florida Coalition:
SpaceShare builds ridesharing, roommate matching and host-matching systems for events -> we particularly like to work with peace rallies, so that as little oil as possible is burned while protesting oil wars.
We also build activism tools... besides connecting people for rides, we can help connect people with neighbors based on the issues they want to get involved with. This is especially useful for budding activists, who might not be comfortable being the one new person at a meeting where everyone else has been active for years.
How peace activists can help us starve the next oil war:
Encourage all the large events you attend to be green and offer carpooling! Don't just preach to the converted and to activists: geologists, nurses, professors... help us show pragmatic solutions that can spread green practices to everyone. Ask every event you attend to coordinate carpooling and to host a green event; travel green yourself!
Breathe & Create,
Stephen
